inTechnology Distribution secures deal with global encrypted communications firm Silent Circle

Organisations across Australia and New Zealand will have access to the World's Most Secure Solution in Mobile Privacy

Sydney, NSW, 29 January 2014 – inTechnology Distribution Pty Ltd, one of Australia’s fastest growing Value Added Distributors (VAD), today announced the signing of a new distribution agreement with Silent Circle, the global encrypted communications firm revolutionising mobile device privacy and security for organisations and individuals, founded by Phil Zimmerman, who developed the Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) data encryption program.

This partnership will see inTechnology work with its existing and new security channel partners to assist in increasing the profile of Silent Circle’s services across the Australian and New Zealand marketplace to help maintain the privacy and security of communications for individuals, enterprise and government agencies alike.

“In light of the monitoring scandals across the globe in recent years there is now a greater requirement for individuals and organisations to protect their communications”, said Mark Winter, Managing Director at inTechnology Distribution.

“While Silent Circle provides the privacy and security communications services, we will provide the delivery mechanism through our channel for organisations to move away from the vulnerable communications mediums of the past to an inherently more secure peer-to-peer encrypted platform that is enterprise-ready and flexible to cover both corporate and employee-owned devices”, Mark said.

Silent Circle’s cutting-edge global encrypted communications services have been designed to protect the most sensitive proprietary data within an organisation. Whether a business allows employees to utilise personal devices for work or if they issue them company-owned devices, Silent Circle has a complete encrypted mobile communications solution to fit any specific requirement. Silent Circle’s peer-to-peer encrypted voice, video, text and file transfer technology for Apple iOS and Android devices allow employees to communicate and conduct business without compromising security.

Besides protecting private communications between individuals, Silent Circle’s technology has been designed to secure communications by overseas business travelers, financial advisors, first responders and journalists who need to keep their conversations confidential.

“With the demand growing for encrypted communications services, the time is right for us to start building our presence in the Australian and New Zealand markets,” said Mark Pearson Director - Special Projects at Silent Circle. “We are extremely pleased to be working with a partner like inTechnology Distribution who has the skillset and channel partners to take Silent Circle to the local market and look forward to a successful relationship”, Mark concluded.

Silent Circle is planning to introduce more products and features in the coming months, such as group messaging, file transfer and tele-conferencing, as well as file storage and hardware capabilities.

All would continue to use the peer-to-peer encryption protocol developed by Zimmerman that relies on the exchange of a shared encryption key during a VoIP telephone call to ensure the security of the conversation.
