Schools, Colleges & Universities Weather Budget Crunch
Schools, colleges and universities from Maine to California and in countries around the world are turning to Netop PrintLimit Pro to help them weather the current budget crunch by cutting back on the high costs of printing. With this award-winning print management software, schools save up to 70 percent in printing costs by eliminating unnecessary printing and reducing waste. Today, Netop, the world’s largest provider of classroom management software, launched the newest update to PrintLimit Pro, now featuring support for Linux installations as well numerous enhancements for ease of use and reporting.
With greatly improved scalability, Print-Limit Pro 9.4 supports tens of thousands of simultaneous user clients, even when running on standard 32-bit server hardware. This means that schools, colleges and universities of all sizes can take advantage of the numerous ways the print management software can help them save money on paper and printing.
“With even the smallest school district, college or university spending upwards of $100,000 per year on printing costs, the ability to monitor and limit printing and charge back costs represents a huge savings for today’s strapped institutions,” said Kurt Bager, CEO, Netop. “Our education customers tell us they see a huge return on their investment when they turn to PrintLimit Pro to manage printing, in terms of cost savings as well as ensuring that students, faculty and staff have access to the printing support they need, when they need it.”
Other enhancements to PrintLimit Pro 9.4 include load balancing, which allows institutions to spread the printing load over groups of printers, maximizing the life of their hardware, toner and other printing supplies. With Find-Me Printing, PrintLimit Pro 9.4 allows schools to intelligently route print jobs to printing centers within their institutions.
Print-Limit Pro 9.4 also features printer toner level reporting and notification for supported network printers so administrators can replenish supplies and so students, teachers and other users will no longer discover that the printer they need to use is out of toner.
Existing PrintLimit Pro customers with valid upgrade protection agreements from GenevaLogic and/or Netop can upgrade to the new version at no extra cost. New customers who purchased PrintLimit Pro after June 2008 will also receive a free upgrade.
A free 30-day trial of PrintLimit Pro 9.4 can be downloaded at www.netop.com.
